It's no secret that on-farm margins are tight. So, how do we begin fixing that challenge?
One way is to begin measuring the root zone, year around, to determine what's happening in the soil profile. Even outside the growing season, environmental conditions are impacting the root zone. But the real question is, to what extent are the conditions impacting the profile.
Another and equally important (if not more important) element we need to consider and measure is soil condition. The soil condition will determine how well the plants are able to develop roots, access water, and access nutrients.
Today at 1:00 Central Time Brad Forkner will share how humates can, and will, positively impact the soil to improve root development and access to nutrition. David Sloane will then share how to use subsurface data to establish when a soil profile needs improvement and then how to measure that improvement each year!
The combination of these systems will equip the farm to KNOW what's required to increase profits from the root zone!
