🎂 LET'S TALK ABOUT CAKE SAFETY!
When choosing a baker, you're trusting them with more than just a beautiful cake. You're trusting them with the health and safety of everyone who eats it!
Recently, I politely expressed concerns to a baker in New Jersey about placing specific dried florals and potentially unsafe decorations directly into a cake without proper protection. Rather than welcoming the advice, her response was essentially that the customer requested it, so it was the customer's problem, not hers. 🤦🏽♀️
And THAT is exactly the problem.
As bakers, food safety is OUR responsibility, not the customer's! Certain florals and decorative materials can contain harmful chemicals, shed fibers, or introduce contaminants. Just because Amazon labels something as a "cake topper" doesn't automatically make it safe for direct food contact.
At Sweet Cheeks Cake Studio, I take pride in going the extra mile to ensure my cakes are not only beautiful but prepared with safety in mind. From preparation conditions to the smallest decorative details, it ALL matters.
Please research who you're trusting with your special occasions.Ask questions. Know who is preparing your food. A baker who prioritizes your health and safety should never be offended by that conversation.
A beautiful cake means nothing if the person creating it doesn't care whether it's safe to eat!
