Good evening Pie Lovers!
12 years ago we started this journey with y’all as The Southern Pie Company on the front porch of Goodmans American Pie in Ludlow. The concept of our unique pies were enjoyed, and no one had ever heard of Sour Cream fruit pies, or ever had pies like ours before.
We started with farmers markets, Okemo events, and restaurants. We wanted to be close to home, so started a pie shop at 287 Main Street in Chester. In our second year of business we were given the opportunity to open a second location in Ludlow, and used this as a bridge to bring people from Ludlow to the green in Chester, and vice versa. After 2 years we were fortunate to get our own building at 94 The Common where we are currently located. We closed our Ludlow location to fully invest in our own building, in Chester, and the amazing community.
Through the challenges of the pandemic, school team championships, free ice cream days, and everything in between - we have been here, part of this community, and FOR the community. Over the last decade of being open things around us have changed A LOT. When things change, everything may not align like it used too.
So, with all that said, we would like to let all of our Pie Lovers and our community know - Southern Pie Cafe will be closing its doors at the end of business on November 29th 2026. It is time for us to fully focus on family, health, and wellness. BUT, don’t worry! Southern Pie pies are not totally disappearing! We will be having pop ups, taking orders for holidays, and doing events.
This isn’t a final chapter at all. This is a transition to a new phase for us personally, and for So Pie.
If you have gift cards we will honor them even after we close our doors when you contact us for orders (more details to come in the future).
Anyone that truly knows us, knows we fully believe in collaborating rather than competing. Our locals are the base of a successful small business community. In the near future you will hear details of what will be going into our space at 94 The Common. We are excited our space will not be empty for long, so stay tuned 😁
We thank each and every one of you, and can’t thank our amazing staff of the past - and the present enough. We could not do this without any of you.
We look forward to our last Thanksgiving Pie Blitz in store, but not the last pie served.
