To our incredible Modern Stone Age community . . . we have some BIG NEWS to share! ❤️🎉

Last night, we shared something incredibly special with our RTTB (Read to the Bottom) email family. Just as we shared the news with our own family, we wanted this amazing community, who has followed the behind-the-scenes ups and downs of our journey, to hear it first.

And WOW! The outpouring of texts, emails, comments, love, and encouragement last night was truly overwhelming. ❤️

Now it's time to share our exciting news with ALL of you!

We filmed this video yesterday, just hours after a HUGE milestone for our family and the future of Modern Stone Age Kitchen and the Modern Stone Age Food Lab.

One take. No script. No rehearsals. And clearly no attempt to keep emotions in check at the end! 😂❤️

It's raw. It's real. It's us.

A little local love goes a long way!💗

We’ve been adding some fun new goodies to the front of the Kitchen just in time for the holiday season!

From stickers to give your water bottle, laptop, or cooler a little personality (because who doesn’t need a “Spread Butter, Not Hate” sticker? 😂) to kitchen towels, baking tools, and other fun finds, we’ve got some great little gifts for the food lovers in your life!

This is what Downrigging Weekend is all about!!!

Yesterday, Billy’s Washington College roommate and soccer teammate, Simone, an exchange student from Italy, got to taste his very FIRST oyster in a bowl of our house-made oyster stew!

And the best part? As Simone was enjoying his first taste, the owner of Orchard Point Oysters, Scott, who harvested the very oysters in his bowl, was standing right behind him enjoying a bowl of our stew himself! How cool is that?!

From the watermen who harvest our local seafood to the people experiencing it for the very first time, these are the moments that make Downrigging so special. Good food, local connections, new experiences, and memories being made right here in Chestertown!

We’ll be serving up LOTS more oyster stew and other scratch-made favorites down at the waterfront today from 10:30 AM–9 PM!

The tall ships are coming in, and Sultana’s Downrigging Weekend is almost here! ⚓️💗

We caught a sneak peek of these beauties arriving in Chestertown today, and the excitement is REAL!

Meanwhile, back at the Modern Stone Age Kitchen, we are frantically prepping, baking, cooking, and getting ready to welcome everyone for one of our favorite weekends of the year!!!

You’ll find us both down at the waterfront AND at the restaurant, so be sure to stop by and say hello!

From pies made with buttery sourdough crusts, local ingredients, and no refined sugars to our incredibly rich sourdough brioche rolls, cranberry sauce, and gravy, everything is made with the same care and intention you’ve come to expect from the Modern Stone Age Kitchen.

Our pies and other Thanksgiving favorites come packaged in reusable glass dishes and mason jars, ready to bring straight to your holiday table. You can proudly tell everyone you brought something from the Modern Stone Age Kitchen - or take all the credit yourself. We won’t tell! 😉

A huge thank you to Chase and Roz for putting their creativity and crafting skills to work on our chef scarecrow for the Downtown Chestertown Association’s scarecrow contest!

Complete with a chef’s hat and MSAK apron, it’s the perfect addition to our fall decorations!

We love seeing our team bring their creativity to life outside the kitchen, too! Thanks, Chase and Roz, for making it happen!

There’s a lot to love about this little corner of the Eastern Shore! 💗

From mornings on the water to historic streets, local shops, great food, and a toast with friends, Kent County packs a lot into one place!

We had a blast welcoming Mayor Meghan Efland to Modern Stone Age Kitchen for coffee, lunch, and a little cocktail magic with Bill. Meghan might have missed her calling - she’s a natural on camera!

Thanks to Kent County, Maryland Tourism for highlighting the people and experiences that make this community special. We’re proud to be part of it!
