Sofi Restaurant Italian Restaurant She opened Girarrosto over 70 years ago and today; it is still a hub for many artists, movie stars and fashion designers.

Born in Milan to culinary great Cesarina, a Cordon Bleu of Chaine des Rotisseurs in Paris, Maurizio inherited his passion for cooking and learned his skills under the watchful eye of his mother. After, years of running Girarrosto, as the front man, Maurizio decided to move to NYC in 1987 to open “Bice” with his cousin. He then went on to work for another famed NYC restaurant “Da Silvano”. ars of being the front man in Milan and New York’s most prestigious restaurants, Maurizio realized that he wanted to pursue his passions as a chef and subsequently opened his own Maurizio Trattoria in NYC’s Greenwich Village to great critical acclaim and success. Along with many prestigious articles and reviews, Maurizio Trattoria was also voted one of the best restaurants in New York by Forbes magazine from 2004 to 2007. Maurizio Trattoria’s regular clientele included famous A-list movie stars, fashion designers, Ceo’s, as well as neighborhood notables. Maurizio is very excited to have finally landed in Chicago’s prestigious Printers Row to open his very own Sofi Restaurant, where he can once again focus his passions on cooking. Sofi Restaurant is an upscale Milanese Trattoria simply decorated with lithographs from Carroll Tyson and table tops that are handmade from two hundred year old wood.
