🍅 The Best Weeks of Summer Are Here

This is the moment we've been waiting for. Heirloom tomatoes, peaches, broccoli, sweet corn, and plums are all arriving from our local farm partners, and the bakery is changing almost daily to keep up with the harvest. If you've been waiting for peak summer flavors, this is your week.

There are plenty of other reasons to stop in this week. Our new Broccoli Cheddar Quiche arrives Tuesday, featuring roasted local broccoli and sharp cheddar, and our beloved French Onion Dip returns to the grab-and-go cooler on Wednesday. If you've been enjoying our Black Sesame Raspberry Cookies, don't worry—they're sticking around a little longer.

Looking ahead to the weekend, we're excited to bring back our BLT on house-made focaccia, piled high with beautiful local tomatoes, and we'll also have Corn Jalapeño Cheddar Muffins available while they last. We had a special order this week and decided to make extra because they're simply too good not to share.

If you ask us, this is the sweetest stretch of the season. Local farms are overflowing with berries, vegetables, and herbs, and our pastry case reflects it. Every week brings new ingredients to work with, and we're making the most of this incredible Midwest harvest.

🌿 Looking Ahead to Sheffield Garden Walk

One of our favorite neighborhood weekends is almost here! The Sheffield Garden Walk (https://www.sheffieldneighborhood.org/2026-garden-walk) returns July 18 & 19, and we're especially excited because this year we'll be partnering with Brumfield Angus Farms for the very first time.

On Saturday, July 18, the Brumfield (https://www.brumfieldangusfarms.com/) team will be at Floriole sharing samples of their exceptional pasture-raised beef. We'll also have our freezers stocked with Brumfield products, so you can take your favorites home after you've had a chance to taste them. We hope you'll stop by during the festivities to meet the team and discover another incredible local producer.

While July may be the quietest month of the year at Floriole, it's also one of our favorite times to bake. The markets are overflowing with incredible fruit and vegetables, and we're making the most of every delivery from our local farmers. If you've been waiting for the perfect time to stop in, this is it—these ingredients are only around for a few short weeks, and we don't want you to miss them.

🍒 Cherries, Blueberries & Summer Desserts

Michigan cherries and blueberries from Mick Klug Farms (https://mickklugfarms.com/) are shining throughout the bakery this weekend. You'll find them in our Cherry Shortcakes, fresh fruit tarts, and available by the basket in our grab-and-go cooler. While you're here, don't miss our Rhubarb Almond Buckwheat Financier or pair your pastry with our new Toasted Vanilla Cold Brew, topped with a caramelized honey, vanilla, and sea salt cold foam that tastes just like melted vanilla ice cream.

Buttery, flaky pastry is topped with a pesto made from herbs grown in our rooftop garden, toasted pepitas, Parmesan, and fresh lemon, then layered with ribbons of yellow and green summer squash and finished with poppy seeds and cracked black pepper.

🌞 A Fresh July Menu Is Here!

We're back from a refreshing holiday break and excited to kick off our July menu with some of our favorite flavors of the season. Peak berries, rooftop herbs, and plenty of summer produce are making their way into the bakery this week. July is traditionally a quieter month around the city, so it's the perfect time to stop by, skip the lines, and enjoy breakfast or lunch with us.

The rest of the menu is getting a summer refresh as well. Beginning Tuesday, our fresh fruit shortcakes will feature sweet cherries, olive oil cake will be layered with mixed summer berry jam, and our fresh fruit tarts are topped with beautiful blueberries. Later this week, our vegetable quiche transitions to a classic combination of leek and Gruyère.

🍓 Summer Favorites Are Here — But Not for Long

The Fourth of July is just around the corner, and we're filling the bakery with some of our favorite summer traditions before we take a short holiday break. Whether you're planning a backyard barbecue, a picnic, or simply looking for something delicious to bring to the table, this is the week to stop by.

Please note: Floriole will be closed Friday, July 3 through Monday, July 6 so our hardworking team can enjoy a well-deserved holiday weekend. We'll reopen on Tuesday, July 7. Be sure to visit us early this week—holiday favorites always disappear quickly!

Before we take a little summer break next week, we’re filling the pastry case with some of our favorite flavors of the season. Sweet cherries and strawberries from Klug Farm are shining, the focaccia lineup is looking especially good, and there are a few fan favorites making their final appearance before we close for the holiday weekend.

SUMMER IS SHOWING OFF

The longest days of the year are here, the rooftop garden is bursting with herbs and flowers, and the bakery is full of berries. As rhubarb season begins to wind down, we're welcoming a few new treats to the case and making the most of the beautiful fruit arriving from local farms.

Bakery Vacation!

Every bakery needs a little vacation now and then. Floriole will be closed July 3–6 so our team can take a short summer break. We'll return on Tuesday, July 7, ready for berry season, tomato season, and all the delicious things that make summer in the Midwest our favorite time of year. We hope you'll use the long weekend to relax, celebrate, and enjoy time with the people you love.
