Small businesses are the heart of Chico, but with costs rising at every turn, it's becoming harder and harder to keep our doors open.

We wanted to share this important post because these proposed sewer rate increases are staggering.

📈 Our sewer bill history:
• 2021: $638.00
• 2024: $1,000.00
• 2026: $1,278.62
• Projected with the new increase: $2,765.65

How is a local, family-owned business supposed to absorb increases like that while still paying employees fairly, keeping prices reasonable for our guests, and continuing to invest in our community?

After proudly serving Chico for 77 years, we're asking our community to pay attention and make your voices heard. Please speak up, write letters, attend meetings, and let our city leaders know that these kinds of increases could have devastating consequences for the small businesses that make Chico special.

We don't just want to survive today—we want to be here for another 77 years.
