Tomorrow, Tuesday, September 23 is Empress Chili Day. Stop by and enjoy a chili dog, sandwich or salad and help Empress celebrate 40 years of operation here in Alexandria.

Steve Martin opened Empress Chili in 1985 in an old Savings and Loan located at 8244 Alexandria Pike, back when that location was America Stop and is now Cheers Wine and Liquor.

In 1991 Steve built and opened the current location at 7934 Alexandria Pike.

Mayor Schabell and City Council took time at the September 18 meeting to surprise Steven Martin with a Proclamation to mark the occasion of 40 years of business.

Join us in celebrating Empress Chili and Mr. Martin.
