👻🕯️ SOME GUESTS NEVER CHECKED OUT… AND WE HAVE THE NEWSPAPER ARTICLE TO PROVE IT!

Did you know that BrewRiver Creole Kitchen has a rather haunting past?

And we're not talking about Halloween decorations. We're talking about an actual tragedy that took place more than a century ago, right here in our building.

👻 MEET AUGUST WEISLEDER.

August was just 26 years old, working as a cook at the historic Linwood House (the very building BrewRiver occupies today), when a horrific electrical accident claimed his life.

Andy Schrimper, one of the hotel's proprietors, desperately tried to save August and suffered serious electrical burns himself.

The tragedy made the newspaper, and we actually have the original article! Take a look at the clipping in our Halloween graphic. 📰

Now, more than a century later, we can't help but wonder…

Did August ever really leave the building? 👀

And August isn't our only ghostly resident. There's also Wh**ey, the longtime bartender at Schrimper's Café, who reportedly died behind the very bar where we're still pouring cocktails today.

But that's a story for another day… 🥃👻
