Meet Marek, our new Sous Chef! 👨🏼‍🍳

Born and raised in Cincinnati, Marek first fell in love with the energy of a kitchen when he was 15, working as a dishwasher. From day one, he knew he wanted to be on the line. While looking for the perfect date night spot, his chef recommended Salazar & that dinner ended up changing his life in two pretty big ways. 1. He knew he had found the woman he wanted to be with and 2. he knew he wanted to work for Chef Jose! 🥲

A year later, he reached out to Jose, joined Goose & Elder during the summer of 2020, and has spent the last six years learning and growing across nearly every restaurant in the Jose Salazar Restaurant Group. Marek has been part of the Mita’s kitchen before, then transferred to Salazar and spent the last six months there. Now, we’re so excited to have him back at Mita’s in a new role as Sous Chef!

When he’s not in the kitchen, Marek loves music, history, movies, his girlfriend, his cat, and cooking steak, mashed potatoes, and pierogies. Help us give Marek a big welcome back and congratulations! 💛
