What an incredible final weekend we had at the shop. So many familiar faces back for one last La Grassa experience. We have packed up all of the remaining gelato & sorbet into pint containers to be sold off this week. Please visit our website at www.lagrassamobile.com to see what is left to purchase. Once they're gone, they're gone! We will be open this week Tues - Fri from 4p - 7p for order pickups only. There will be no scoops, cups, cones or beverages sold....just remaining pints. Well.....we've reached that point. This is our final weekend. We can't think of a better way to ride off into the sunset than with two monster flavors. First up is Fat Elvis which has a base made up of peanut butter, bananas and a little honey. Then we add in the chocolate covered waffle cone pieces for a little crunch. The second flavor is Snapping Turtle. This is our take on the classic turtle candy. The base is a combination of chocolate, peanut butter and caramel, with chocolate covered pretzels throughout. BOTH FLAVORS CONTAIN PEANUTS AND GLUTEN. Available now in scoops and pints while supplies last. Order & reserve now at www.lagrassamobile.com. Starting on Tuesday 9/26, we will be putting the remaining pints online with a countdown inventory. That means the available flavors will be listed just like normal, but will then show a "Low Stock" message, and finally a "sold out" message next to the flavor. Once it's sold out next week, it will not be replaced. Our online store will be up until Friday 9/29 @ 12pm. We will be open from 4pm - 7pm Tues - Friday for you to collect your pint orders. There will be no scoops or beverages sold next week, only pints. All orders must be picked up by Friday 9/29 at 7pm. We will post this again next week as a reminder.

We're proud to announce that SALTED CARAMEL is back in the rotation. Since our inception, Salted Caramel Gelato has been a staple flavor for La Grassa. This summer it took a little vacation, but now it's back in both scoops & pints. Also joining us this week is our Dairy Free Mocha Chip. This flavor is very different from our Coffee Chip in that it's completely dairy free and vegan. We use our Yield Decaf Columbian coffee, Oatly Oat Milk and Valrhona Chocolate to create a creamy (but no cream!) base with dark chocolate thin chips throughout. It's so good you may not even realize it's dairy free. DF Mocha Chip is a limited run, so order your pints now at www.lagrassamobile.com before they're all gone.

The holiday weekend is over, and it's time to announce details about our final month. The last day for walkup gelato scoops and beverages (a normal store day) will be Sunday 9/24, from 12p - 9p. After that, whatever gelato & sorbet is left, will be packed into pint containers. These pints will be offered on our online site at www.lagrassamobile.com during the last week of September until they're all gone (the website will indicate if a flavor is available or sold out). The shop will be open Tuesday 9/26 - Friday 9/29 from 4pm - 7pm for pint pickups only....there will be no scoops or beverages available. All orders must be picked up by 7pm on Friday 9/29. That will be the final, final day. Some great fan-favorite flavors are still planned for this month, so please stay tuned to this social media for updates!

As we enter the final month of our business, it's time to start bringing out the BIG GUNS. For Labor Day weekend, it's Honeycomb Crunch and Buckeye Crunch. Both are unique gelato recipes (Honeycomb contains egg & Buckeye contains peanut butter) that make up the base. But it's the CRUNCH that makes this awesome. We use homemade Honeycomb Candy for one and Peanutcomb (same thing minus honey) Candy for the other. No real buckeyes were injured during the production😊. The countdown flavors this week are perfect for an air-conditioned weekend. The classic Chocolate Mousse Brownie makes it's final visit. This is a chocolate custard base which is as silky as any chocolate mousse you've ever had. Then throw in chunks of chocolate brownie. Hello?? Also for this weekend is a flavor from many years ago that our earliest fans might remember. Lemon-Lime Jalapeno Sorbet. Cold & sweet citrus up front, followed by a light "tingle" at the end. It's really the perfect amount of pepper. This flavor can be paired with Tequila or Vodka to make a boozy slush (adults only please). The countdown continues this week with two unique flavors. Strawberry Swirl Cheesecake was a fan challenge from years ago. Could we make a Cheesecake Gelato with fresh strawberries? Yep! Our classic Cheesecake Gelato (with real cream cheese, sour cream and egg yolks) with fresh strawberry puree swirled throughout....with graham cracker crust to boot. The other flavor this week is Toffee Chip. We created a custom gelato base to taste similar to a blended toffee, but then add our own homemade English Toffee and chocolate chips. It has the crunch of the toffee and the smooth chocolate chips to delight your tastebuds. Both flavors are available in scoops at the shop and in Pints to-go. Starting off the weekend special offerings, we present two all-time favorites: Chocolate Almond Chip Gelato & Raspberry Sorbet. Both of these fantastic flavors are available in scoops at the shop and in pints. CLOSING ANNOUNCEMENT

This announcement is to address the “rumors” we have been hearing about La Grassa.

After much thought and reflection we have decided to close the operation of La Grassa by the end of September. This means that we will close our store in Madeira. We have also notified our wonderful partners at The Element Eatery of our plans and they are considering other gelato options. Fortunately, A Tavola and all three Taglio restaurants will continue to serve their house-made gelato (same recipes) to satisfy your gelato cravings.

We have not set a definite closing date yet, but it will be by the end of September. Until then, it’s business as usual with our Fall store hours in effect beginning next week (see hours graphic included here). Please stop by the shop or visit The Element Eatery this summer and load up on La Grassa.. All active La Grassa gift cards (both plastic & electronic) will expire when we close so please be sure to use them as soon as possible (no new gift cards will be issued). We will notify everyone of the exact closing date soon in order to give you time to “stock your freezers” with La Grassa pints.

Thanks for your patronage. It’s been a great honor and experience to be able to provide our loyal fans with what we believe is one of the best gelatos available.
