Foodhisattva (pronunciation: food-duh-suht-vuh), a combination of the word "food" and the Buddhist term "bodhisattva", began as a series of vegan pop-up restaurants on the east side of Cleveland in 2014. In 2019, we opened our cafe in our neighborhood, the Cedar-Taylor district of Cleveland Heights Ohio. Our goal is to contribute to the reduction of suffering by creating delicious and affordable c

ruelty-free food that people, regardless of their dietary preferences, can enjoy. We're excited to be serving our community compassionate cuisine and look forward to feeding our neighbors for many years to come.

A classic delicate sponge baked with pineapple, and dried cranberries, served with a spiced pineapple syrup.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake (GF)

Almond flour crust, dark chocolate cheesecake, and peanut butter cashew cream, with a sprinkle of roasted peanuts and a chocolate drizzle.

Kitchen Special

Three Cup Tofu and Veggie (GF)

A Foodhi classic, tofu and king oyster mushrooms with peppers, onions, and Thai basil stir fried with our house three cup sauce. Served with rice.

Summer Break

We will be closed June 18th to June 21st for a little summer break. We'll be back the following week with an updated summer menu.

Leaving Soon

This one comes and goes, like a boomerang first thrown back in our pop-up days, our Chick'n Katsu Sando features a house chick'n cutlet breaded and fried to perfection with dill pickles, lettuce, hot mustard mayo, and our chef's Katsu sauce.

We're pretty sure our Sando is the first vegan Chick'n sandwich in Cleveland, and although we're proud of that we do recognize the need to keep things new and exciting.

Our Chick'n Katsu Sando will be moving back into special rotation, so grab one before the waiting is the hardest part.

Leaving Soon!

Our Sweet and Sour Seitan!

With our house porq/seitan, pineapple, carrots, peppers, and onions, and our sweet and sour sauce, we love this stir-fry. But we need to keep the menu exciting and new for y'all and that means cutting some of our favorite dishes.

We're planning on running this and many of our current menu items for a couple weeks. After which, we'll take a break to recoup and reset the kitchen for our summer menu.

Beets and . . .

It's a dip, of sorts. Roasted beets pureed with garlic and chickpeas, topped with crumbled tempeh and feta, and served with seasoned flatbread.

Carrot Cake

Kitchen Specials

Bodhi Beet Burgers (While Supplies Last)
I made a batch of our classic veggie burgers. Each patty is topped with seasoned avocado, coconut bacon, tomato, lettuce, green onion, and mayo, served on a sesame-seeded focaccia bun.

These are limited, so grab one while you can.

I've been running more in-house specials lately. Thanks to our Mother’s Day guests, I was able to test a Neat Loaf Plate with mashed potatoes, mushroom gravy, and broccoli. I’m still dialing in a few elements, but once I’m happy with it, I’ll run it again (probably sometime this weekend).

I’m also revising the Chickpea Fries—new iterations of a “once upon a menu” option coming soon. Y’all loved them at the last brunch, and that gave me the push to bring them back. Fair warning though: these are best eaten immediately, so I may end up keeping them in-house only.

In other words: I have been running specials, but I've been limiting many of them to small batches and dine-in only.
