We Ain't no fast food resturant! We are a Barbecue Joint! We do brisket, pork ribs, chicken, pulled pork, sausage, turkey our Massive DINO Beef Ribs! Home Made cobblers and sandwiches. All our hand made sides are made fresh every early morning, potato salad, cole slaw, pinto beans and mac and cheese. Come and check out our newly remodeled building located 9,000 feet above the stress level in beautiful Lincoln National Forest.

We need your help. I’m gonna put it bluntly. The most bad ass employee we’ve ever had is in need of help. And he’s the kind of guy that would never ask for it. He’s always been behind the scenes, not interested in being in the limelight. We teasingly ask him if he’s in the witness protection program, because he doesn’t want to be in any pictures. So this pic is the best I could do to represent, and it does it well. You see, Anthony is our early morning pit master. I can throw anything on this guy and he never complains, he simply gets it done. And done right. He’s having some serious troubles and going in for surgery next week and we’re going to do anything we can to help him. Our ‘love bucket’ will be out this week for donations. I’ll be the first to chip in, let’s show him some love. I know he’s worried, and from our experience just seeing that complete strangers care makes a difference. The ‘love bucket’ will be at the hostess station all week, or you can send donations through Venmo ([email protected]). If you can’t help financially, more importantly, prayers are deeply appreciated, Thanks guys!

When I originally bought the little beachfront home in Roatan Honduras I imagined us building a little beachfront bbq shack and living the Jimmy Buffet life style. And then my oldest daughter went off and had two babies and that changed everything. So now I find us here on this beautiful island selling that dream to help finance another in the Texas Hill Country. What a crazy life I live. Sign papers tomorrow and head back Wednesday, so there’s still time for a piña colada at the Thirsty Turtle in West Bay! 😎

Almost every day I hear the question “when are you opening your Johnson City location?”. The truth is, I don’t know. I was really hoping for a July 4th opening, but that ain’t happening. Our new septic system that has to be approved by the state is taking much longer than expected. And then there’s the extremely extravagant filtration system on our water well. And to be honest, I’m running out of money. Today I’m selling a classic car that I own. Time to get rid of some toys! Saturday, we fly to Honduras to complete the sale of a property there. And then we can get back to work. While the money’s been tight, we’re trying to do what we can ourselves. I’d like to thank Rabbi Don for all his help. Not only has he been helping with our tin ceiling, he drove to Cloudcroft yesterday to help our crew there while one of our best, Anthony recoups from surgery.

Man… we had a great meal yesterday! I have to thank Sysco for inviting us over for lunch at the Burnt Bean in Seguin, Texas. It’s easy to see what made them number one on the prestigious Texas Monthly list. I learned a lot from co owner Ernest. And not much of it had anything to do with smoking meats. I’d like to thank him and his co owner Super Dave for taking the time to visit with us. If y’all are ever in the Seguin area you need to stop by, it’s an experience you won’t forget!
