IF YOUR TOSSING & TURNING BEFORE BED EVERY NIGHT, READ BELOW ⬇️
A relaxing environment is key for a good night’s rest which also helps improve how you feel while awake the next day. Studies have shown people sleep better when their bedroom environment is optimized for light, temperature, and comfort.
Here's how each of these elements can affect your sleep:
💡 Turn off lights when the sun goes down: Exposure to artificial light in the evening can delay circadian rhythms and prolong sleep onset.
🎶 Put on soothing music/calming sounds: Calming music/sounds improves sleep through calming parts of the autonomic nervous system, leading to slower breathing, lower heart rate, and reduced blood pressure.
🕯 Burn a candle, incense, or essential oils: Certain scents can help you feel more relaxed such as sage, lavender, rose, chamomile, & jasmine.
🥶 Keep it at a cool temperature - optimal range is 60-72 degrees F:
A cooler thermostat setting helps you maintain a lower core temperature while you sleep which is crucial because a lower core temperature makes you feel sleepy.
🧽 Clean room / reduce clutter: A clean de-cluttered room will help you feel less stressed and more calm. You will wake up to a smoother start to your day alongside being able to easily find what you need and get out the door on time
🚫Turn your phone on do not disturb: This minimizes notifications and blue light exposure that may keep your mind engaged and on high alert which can keep you awake.
happy sleeping 💤😴 🛏
