This post isn’t exactly baking-related, but I wanted to share something very special with you all
Today I am celebrating 2 years with no evidence of cancer. 🎗

Some of you may know that right after the new year in 2024, I was diagnosed with stage 4A tongue cancer. I went through multiple surgeries, including having half of my tongue removed, along with chemotherapy and radiation.

At the time, I didn’t know if I would ever be able to bake again. The possibility of losing my sense of taste, the ability to eat, and even the use of my left arm (which was used for a graft to rebuild my tongue) made my future feel very uncertain.

But here I am, two years later, doing exactly what I love. Being able to bake for all of you is truly my dream, my passion, and something that was absolutely worth fighting for.

When you support my business, you’re supporting someone who fought hard to be here and pours her heart into every single thing she creates. And for that, I am endlessly grateful. ❤️

Happy Easter from Vivian Bakes 🐰🐣

In our household, we get to celebrate two Easters since I celebrate Greek Orthodox Easter (next Sunday). That means I get all the discounted candy for next week 😉

That being said, I wanted to offer you a traditional dessert/bread that Greeks enjoy during Easter.

Tsoureki is a Greek Easter bread flavored with mastiha and mahlepi, and it’s braided before baking. Traditionally, a red egg is placed on top to symbolize the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, but many people (me) also love the chocolate version.

$10 for the plain Tsoureki
$15 for the chocolate Tsoureki

I will be making them about half the size, as one full loaf can feed up to 20 people.

If you’d like to order one, please let me know by Wednesday at noon for Saturday pickup.

So grateful to have been a featured chef at Stunna’s Supper Club for Greek Night 🇬🇷✨ It was such a fun evening and I appreciate everyone who came out and supported!

Vivian of Vivian Bakes is bringing the flavors, the stories, and the heart of her home country to the table for a true Greek Night experience. Think vibrant dishes, beautiful tradition, and that warm Mediterranean energy we all crave this time of year.

Albert Nolting will be setting the mood with live music, and we’ll have a cash bar ready to keep the evening flowing.
