🤫 Sometimes, people have a very short memory when it comes to promises they made—but those of us who lived through it remember every detail.
Be careful who you trust and do business with. A handshake should mean something, and agreements should be honored—not changed or disputed when it becomes convenient.
We invested nearly five months of hard work, time, money, and sweat into repairing and improving a commercial space, addressing major issues, and trying to bring our business back to life. We did this with the understanding that we were building something for our future.
From the very beginning, there were serious concerns about how the lease terms were communicated, presented, and ultimately documented. What we understood and discussed did not always match what we later faced on paper. We tried to resolve these issues, protect our business, and move forward in good faith.
Then, after all that work and investment, we found ourselves forced to walk away—watching the space become available for another business while our own financial losses, hard work, and unanswered questions remained behind.
Imagine putting your heart, savings, and months of labor into a place, only to feel that the very process you trusted left you in a position you never intended to be in.
This is not just about a building. It is about trust, fairness, accountability, and the real consequences that small-business owners can face when agreements become a source of conflict.
We are still seeking legal advice and pursuing justice through the appropriate channels. We believe the facts, communications, timeline, and documents deserve to be examined carefully.
Our goal is not revenge. It is accountability, fairness, and making sure our experience is heard—so other small-business owners understand the importance of documenting every promise, reviewing every lease provision, and never assuming that a handshake alone will protect them.
Five months of hard work should not be forgotten. Our investment mattered. Our family mattered. And our story deserves to be heard.
