Following is a statement from Chef Bill Glover, the owner, on the closing:
Sage, which was named after my daughter, was my passion. In 2012, having met my personal goal for Sage, I embarked on a new career path with Hilton Columbus Downtown and handed over the day-to-day operations to my capable and enthusiastic team. They did an admirable job maintaining the operation and growing the business. T...he team has been recognized in their own right during the last twelve months. However, as new endeavors have been offered to key players of the Sage team, it has become apparent that it is time to close Sage. I do this with a heavy heart.
Sage had a great run, and I will always have so many wonderful memories. This adjustment will allow me to fully focus on Gallerie Bar & Bistro at Hilton Columbus Downtown as well my growing family. The last year was simply incredible. I embarked upon a new career path just as I found out we were expecting a son who came along about three months after opening the hotel.
Several of Sage’s favorite items are featured on the Gallerie menu, which also highlights Ohio products. I’m excited about what the future holds for the Gallerie team. While Sage may be closing, Gallerie is just heating up!
Note: Due to the work involved with closing the restaurant and the significant preparation required for the upcoming Presidents Cup in Columbus, Chef Glover will only be able to respond to questions via email. Please submit any follow-up questions to [email protected] and [email protected]. Responses will be provided promptly.
