So much for the power of positive thinking…

The downtown Columbus KeyBank building, plagued by low occupancy and maintenance issues, was sold for less than half its most recent sale price.

A lot of you have been inquiring as to what we have been up to since the new ownership has taken over. After being in a receivership for what felt like forever, the building was sold to the highest bidder and somehow the former building manager convinced the new owner that he was worthy of the same position and now we have returned to the same nightmare.

Once I realized it was going to be much of the same, I decided to sell and we went into contract pretty quickly only for the sale to be blocked by the building manager. So, I went back to the drawing board collecting as much positivity as I could muster to try and make this space work, we were struck with more water issues which coincidentally has plagued our entire post Schottenstein Property Group existence. Once the pipes were “fixed”, here’s (see pics) what we were left with and we shut down immediately until the building could prove the water was potable. They didn’t respond to my request, but instead sent us the bill for the building’s plumbing cost. Due to my reluctance to reimburse the building a $5500 plumbing bill after the pipes were backed up so bad, it was literally coming from all directions. They again refused to respond to my email and instead sent me a termination of lease.

As the great Bon Jovi once said, “we will find a place where the sun still shines!”

PS. In case we were wondering if this water issue was just in our suite, the bathroom photos are from the common area…

Hopefully this will be the good news needed to finally address our Inconsistent, heating, cooling and occasional but unexpected water feature at our front door.
