A little update to our hours!

Starting this week, Neal’s Dining Room will be closing at 8:00 PM moving forward.Tonight, Saturday, October 17, our hours will be 8:00 AM–2:00 PM and 5:30 PM–8:00 PM.

We look forward to seeing y’all this weekend!🤍

We’re honored to have been recognized by Uvalde County officials as Neal’s Lodges and Dining Room celebrates a century of serving the Frio River community.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of our story over the past 100 years. We wouldn’t be here without the generations of guests, families, and friends who have made Neal’s what it is today.
Here’s to 100 years and many more!

Uvalde County Commissioners Mariano Pargas Jr. and John Yeackle (left) and interim county judge Jerry W. Bates and Commissioner Ronnie Garza (right) joined representatives of Neal’s Sept. 28 in recognizing the 100th anniversary of Neal’s Lodges and Dining Room. Joining them were Gayle Korbell, Emily Korbell, Susan Stone, John Buchanan, Noreen Buchanan, Maryanna Roosa, Helen Burgin and Chase Roosa. The businesses’ centennial celebration is set Oct. 9-11.

The newspaper updated this cutline at 10:35 a.m. Oct. 14 to reflect the correct spelling of the last name Korbell.

The legends and people of the Frio Canyon

This fall, we’re celebrating the people and stories that have helped make the Frio Canyon what it is.

It all starts September 25-27 with TerraTx Art Fest, the area’s first art festival, featuring eight murals between Concan and Leakey. Then, October 9-11, come back for Neal’s 100th celebration. We’ll be bringing back the classics with live music, hay rides, some of the best of the best from around the area, and more.
