Four years ago, we opened The Exceptional Bean with a dream much bigger than coffee.
Our mission was to create opportunities, build community, and remind individuals with disabilities that they are seen, valued, capable, and deeply loved.
Today, we’re celebrating four incredible years.
Yes, we’ve grown. We’ve opened a second location at Cookeville Regional Medical Center, and we’re incredibly grateful for that. But the growth we’re most proud of has nothing to do with coffee.
It’s the friendships that have become family.
It’s the boyfriends and girlfriends. The tennis teams, run clubs, choirs, craft groups, swim lessons, and weekly library outings. It’s watching team members move into homes of their own, return to college, discover confidence, find independence, and accomplish things they once never imagined possible.
These moments are why we exist.
The Exceptional Bean has never just been a coffee shop. It’s a place where people discover their worth, build confidence, and find a community that believes in them.
To every person who has bought a cup of coffee, shared our story, volunteered, donated, or simply believed in this mission—thank you. Because of you, lives are changing every single day.
Thank you for supporting our mission disguised as a coffee shop.
Happy 4th Birthday, Exceptional Bean.
The best is still to come. ❤️
