Heads up, neighbors! These new traffic patterns and closures can feel very overwhelming! Hope this helps you prepare for your work week and commutes this coming week!

REMINDER: ROAD CLOSURES AND PATTERN CHANGES COMING TO COVINGTON ON OR AFTER MONDAY, JUNE 15.

Several significant traffic impacts originally scheduled for June 8 are now set to begin on or after Monday, June 15 as Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project construction advances. Here's what drivers need to know:

▪️ Bullock Avenue from Pike Street to the on-ramp for I-71/75 southbound at 12th Street will close. This closure will remain in place through October 2026.

▪️ 12th Street between Simon Kenton Way and Bullock Avenue will close. This closure will remain in place through substantial project completion expected in 2033.

▪️ Simon Kenton Way will be converted to two-way traffic from 12th Street to Pike Street.

▪️ A new traffic signal will be installed at Pike Street and Hermes Avenue.

▪️ The I-71/75 southbound off-ramp to Fifth Street will remain open while W. Third Street in Covington is blocked to thru traffic. Once W. Third Street reopens, the southbound W. Fifth Street off-ramp, as well as Fifth Street from Crescent Avenue to the I-71/75 northbound exit off-ramp west of Philadelphia Street will close.

An updated timeline for the reopening of Covington’s W. Third Street and closure of the I-71/75 southbound off-ramp to W. Fifth Street will be provided at a later date.

Visit the project website for additional details and to sign up for text and email traffic alerts: https://brentspencebridgecorridor.com/construction-updates/traffic-advisories/

Neighbors, this is heartbreaking- if you’ve been in the neighborhood, you know Claudio has poured his heart and soul into Gutierrez Deli. It’s a staple here in The Cov! Please stop by this month to share your love and support, share your memories and let Claudio know the impact Gutierrez has had.

If you know any local storefront spaces here in Covington, send them directly to the Gutierrez Deli page! We cannot lose this staple Deli!

It is with heavy hearts that we share some news we never imagined we’d have to write.

Gutierrez Deli has been notified by our landlord that our lease will not be renewed, and we have been instructed to vacate the building by July 1st.

After 15 years of serving the Covington community, this next month will be our last month at our current location.

This store has been so much more than a business. It has been a place where friendships were made, where generations of families stopped in for lunch, where kids spent their allowance money, where neighbors caught up with one another, and where our family built a name and a life. Gutierrez Deli helped shape who we are, and we are deeply saddened to see this chapter come to an end.

Over the next few weeks, we would love nothing more than to see the community that has supported us for the last 15 years. Stop in for some tacos, share a memory, tell us your favorite story, bring a photo, or simply give us a hug. Every conversation means the world to us right now.

While this location is closing, we are not ready to give up on Gutierrez Deli. We believe there is still a place for us in Covington, and we hope this is not goodbye forever. If you know of any available storefronts, buildings, or opportunities that could become the next home for Gutierrez Deli, please reach out and let us know.

Thank you for every order, every recommendation, every kind word, and every ounce of support you’ve shown our family over the last 15 years. We wouldn’t be here without you.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, Covington.

— Claudio, Courtney, & The Gutierrez Family ❤️

⚠️ NKY Pride FAQs ⚠️

Joining us for the NKY Pride Festival & Parade this Sunday?

Below are answers to some common Qs and things you need to know before you go.

❓ Q: Where should I park?
👉 A: See the map below for a full list of parking available throughout Covington. For additional info and an interactive map, check out http://covpark.com/

❓ Q: Where is the best place to watch the parade?
👉 A: The parade route includes key points along Pike Street and Main Street, culminating in MainStrasse Village. Consider joining us at the NKY Pride Center (230 W Pike St.) for fun watch spot festivities — it’s also where the parade emcee and judges will be stationed!

❓ Q: What route does the parade follow?
👉 A: You can find a map of the parade route here: https://bit.ly/NKYPrideParadeRoute

❓ Q: What food and beverage vendors will be at NKY Pride?
👉 A: NKY Pride will host Braxton Brewing, West 6th Brewing, Castle and Key Distillery, Street Pops and more. If you are looking for something a little more substantial, escape the heat and visit any of the great restaurants along Main Street, just steps away from the festival.

❓ Q: Is Northern Kentucky Pride a cashless event?
👉 A: No, many of our vendors accept cash along with credit cards, tap to pay, etc. However, we do not have an ATM onsite, so make sure to grab a couple of dollars to tip your favorite entertainers and have on-hand for the vendors who only take cash.

❓ Q: How accessible is PrideFest?
👉 A: We make every effort to make sure individuals of all abilities can participate in the festival. If you have a specific question about the accessibility of a certain element of this year’s event, email our festival committee at [email protected].
