GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!**
UPDATE, IF YOU CAN PLEASE, READ!
HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY TO OUR PRECIOUS ZUZU!
In honor of our rock, my father, Jerry Kucharski and in honor of our daughters 3rd birthday today (Dec 4th)...We'd like to post this..
We cannot thank you all enough. We have been overwhelmed by the love and support we have received over the past few days! Some of you have posted messages, dropped by the restaurant, private messaged or called.
Your kind words have been beyond touching and helpful. Some of you sharing stories while others offering condolences has been amazing.
Its been a very difficult few days and likely will be for a long time as the shock of it is lingering heavily over all of us.
As I typed the previous post, I was thinking of all the memories and the impact this man had on so many lives throughout the world and realized many of us could write a book about it all. As his son, I could have written many with multiple volumes.
So, as we have been planning on ways to honor him with our family through the memorial service, we have also been trying to figure out a way to honor him in the business as well.
As we mourn the loss of Jerry, we also celebrate his life and celebrate the 3rd birthday of our daughter Zuzu who he always called his "miracle baby."
Born December 4th, 2022, Zuzu was only 1 lb 11oz and born 3 months early. She came into this world with many of her Paps qualities. Spunky and a fighter! Like our son Jax, Jerry's spirit lives on through us and them.
As we love telling people that Zuzu is named after a character in our favorite movie of all time "It's a Wonderful Life," One of the quotes in the movie also is very fitting.
"Strange, isn't it? Each man's life touches so many other lives. And when he isn't around, he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?" -Clarence the Angel.
That being said, those of you who commented on the previous post, we will be working to message you this special directly.
Jerry loved cooking and loved sharing food with others. In his personal life and he also loved meeting and taking time to have conversations with customers at fests and in the restaurant. Jaxs Crown Town Grill was always something he sacrificed a lot for of time and investment for multiple reasons. To be part of "Small Business USA," to share family recipes and foods of his heritage and family with others and most importantly, to help secure his kids and grandkid's future.
How can you help us honor him?
1. Every Christmas or future catering or pierogi order placed December 4th thru 6th we will use a percentage towards a few of his favorite charities. (He had several)
2. Make a donation either online via our online ordering page, drop by the restaurant or call us at 219-661-1955 to help with the betterment of our restaurant and help offset any expenses our matriarch, Anne, Jerry's wife of 49 years may have.
3. One of Jerry's favorite Christmas movies and events we held was Polar Express. Book a reservation for our Saturday event Polar Express Pajama Party! We also will be hosting other events he loved being a part of!
We love you all more than you'll know or ever realize! Even without knowing many of you personally, you will never really know the impact you've had on our family and we hope that can continue many years to come.
RIP Jerry Kucharski (June 3rd, 1955- November 30th,2025)
And HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR SWEET ZUZU MICHAELA MAE !
