Venturing is a co-ed BSA Scout affiliated organization for young men and women ages 13 (if you've completed eighth grade) through 20. This summer & fall, Crew 158 volunteered to help pack 100,000 meals with First Church for Kenya. They also helped with monthly Mobile Food Pantries in Crystal Lake. Serving our community and the world!

Here's some pretty cool video of the unloading of the Christmas Tree Ship this past Saturday. Mr. Isaac Covert is hard to miss. He must know someone at Fox 32! Thanks again to everyone who came out.

Hello Crew,

On Saturday December 2nd, those of us participating in the Sea Scout Sleepover and Christmas Tree Unloading service opportunity should be returning early in the afternoon. Coincidentally, at 1:30 volunteers will be assembling at First Church to help at the mobile food pantry from which grocery items will be distributed to the needy in our communities. Assuming I get some sleep Friday night, I intend to stick around and help out. Whether you are going to Chicago or not, if you have time to give and you want to help out, please let me know and we’ll reserve you a spot too.

Crew 158 is looking forward to the service opportunity awaiting us in two weeks. We will be offloading Christmas Trees to be donated to the needy from the USS Coast Guard Cutter Mackinaw at Navy Pier. Thanks also to Sea Scout Ship 5111 for hosting us on board the Abegweit Friday night. Can't wait!

This is just a reminder that our next Crew meeting will be held at First Church tonight at 7:00pm. Topics of discussion will be the upcoming December sleep-over and community service in Chicago taking place Dec. 1 & 2, Crew activities for January and February, and Venturingfest 2018, which will be here before we know it. Hope to see you there!

Our 2nd Culver's Fundraiser has been scheduled for this Thursday, March 9th at Culver's in Woodstock anytime from 4pm-10pm. This restaurant works differently than the other Culver's we've worked at. We do not have to be present.

Just bring one of the attached flyers with you, show it to them on your cell phone, or if you forgot the flyer tell them that you are there for Venturing Crew 158's Fundraiser, eat and enjoy! This can be used in either the dine-in or drive-thru.
