Well… we finally did it. The National has officially put on a new outfit and become The Royalè 👑

To celebrate, we’re hosting a soft opening May 28th–30th with doors opening daily at 4 PM!

Now when we say “soft opening,” we mean it. There may be a few hiccups, a little confusion, someone yelling “where’s the ranch?!”, and at least one moment where we all stare at the POS system in silence. But that’s part of the charm, right? 😂

Come enjoy the new space, the new vibe, great food, cold drinks, and most importantly… enjoy our mistakes as we roll into this new chapter. We’re excited, slightly stressed, and incredibly thankful for everyone supporting us through the transition.

Big things are happening… ✨

The National will be closed this week as we prepare for an exciting new chapter. We are beyond grateful for every customer, every meal shared, and every memory made under The National name. Your support has meant everything to us.

Next week, we will officially reopen as The Royalè - Bourbon, Brews & Burgers! 🍔

While the name is changing, the heart behind it stays the same — great food, great people, and a place that feels like home. We cannot wait to show you what we’ve been working on and welcome you all back through our doors.

The National in Cullman Announces New Chapter as Royale Burgers, Bourbon & Brews

Cullman, Alabama — After an incredible journey serving the Cullman community, The National will officially close its doors as it prepares to begin an exciting new chapter under a new name and concept: Royale Burgers, Bourbon & Brews.

The transition marks a fresh vision for the downtown dining experience while continuing the commitment to quality food, hospitality, and community that guests have come to know and love.

Royale Burgers, Bourbon & Brews will introduce a bold new menu centered around handcrafted burgers, an expanded bourbon selection, local and regional brews, and an energetic atmosphere designed for families, friends, and visitors alike.

“We are incredibly grateful for the support the community has shown The National over the years,” said Michael Locascio. “While it’s bittersweet to close this chapter, we are excited to bring something fresh and unique to Cullman with Royale Burgers, Bourbon & Brews. This rebrand reflects our passion for creating a fun, approachable destination where great food and great company come together.”

Guests can expect:

Signature handcrafted burgers
A curated bourbon and whiskey selection
Rotating craft beer offerings
Live entertainment and special events
A welcoming atmosphere with Southern hospitality

The final day of service as The National will be 05/16/2026. Royale Burgers, Bourbon & Brews is expected to open on 05/21/2026, with additional announcements and sneak peeks coming soon on social media.

The team extends heartfelt thanks to loyal customers, staff, friends, and the Cullman community for supporting The National and looks forward to welcoming everyone into this exciting new era.

This week, we are honored to support Cullman Quick Copy, a local business that has been deeply impacted. Cliff—and his family before him—have been a staple in our community for years, and now it’s our turn to show up for him.

We invite you to come out, share a meal, and show them the same love and encouragement this community has shown time and time again.

A portion of the evening’s proceeds will go directly to support them, and we’ll also have a donation jar available for anyone who would like to give a little extra.
