Our story began in November of 1990 when fate intervened in the form of a neighborhood ice cream shop. Jose, the founder of Don Pepe's, noticed a sign on the door, signaling the owner's retirement. It was a casual conversation with the owner that ignited the sp

ark within Jose to pursue his own dream. With the unwavering support of the ice cream shop owners, Jose transformed the small space into a vibrant taqueria called Mexi-Go Restaurant. The community quickly embraced the to-go concept, and what started as a humble 7-table establishment became a beloved neighborhood destination. Despite a few changes in location over the years, including a recent relocation to Hillcrest & Arapaho, Jose and his family have remained dedicated to serving their loyal patrons. Since that serendipitous beginning, Don Pepe's Rancho and Mexi-Go Restaurant have expanded to eight different locations, a testament to the impact we can have on each other's lives when we believe in the greatness that resides within people. The ice cream shop owner could have never predicted the ripple effect of their investment—a simple act of providing Jose with an opportunity that changed the trajectory of his family's life and provided jobs for numerous individuals.
