He and his wife introduced their own culinary interests to their recipes, making hand-crafted menu items. The Dallas Observer granted them the award for Best Non-Italian Pizza in 2004, so they were doing well from the start! In 2013 Omar moved on to live in the Blue Ridge Mountains, but our current ownership has only improved things. To this day we’ve made only minor changes to the menu. We added
personal pizzas, daytime delivery, and so much more to make Cigarz our new home. We’re still a small place with about 10 employees, and as such we tend to get to know our customers personally. Our location allows us to serve the local Lakewood, Little Forest Hills, Hollywood Heights, and Lake Highlands areas to great satisfaction. No seating inside, but we offer take-out and delivery all day. The bar next door called The Goat encourages you to bring food over, but keep in mind the bar is not kid-friendly! In October 2016 we finally joined the 21st century and brought in a Square POS system. We can now e-mail or text receipts, and it’s made us much more efficient as a business.
