Little Blue Joint Hosts HEARTism Art Exhibit to Support Children with Special Needs
Darby, Montana — May 18, 2025 — Little Blue Joint, a beloved staple of the Darby dining scene since 2006, is proud to partner with the HEARTism Community Center to showcase a collection of original artwork created by local youth with special needs. The exhibit is now on display at the restaurant, with each piece available for purchase with a tax-deductible donation of $20 or more. All proceeds will directly benefit HEARTism and its programming.
Established in 2016 and based in Hamilton, HEARTism Community Center provides a nurturing environment where children and young adults with special needs—such as those on the autism spectrum—can engage in the arts, music, and essential life skills development. Autism spectrum disorder is a neurodevelopmental condition often characterized by restricted, repetitive behaviors and challenges with social interaction and communication.
“Our mission is to bring families together and honor the unique gifts of individuals of all abilities,” said Jessica Fitzpatrick, Executive Director of HEARTism. “We believe every child deserves the chance to develop and thrive through inclusive, supported creative experiences. From weekly art classes and music therapy to summer camp programs, HEARTism offers these opportunities free of charge to all participants.”
“Jessica and the dedicated volunteers at HEARTism do an outstanding job empowering young people with special needs and strengthening western Montana families and communities,” said Michael Campbell, chef and owner of Little Blue Joint. “We’re thrilled to share their vibrant artwork with our guests—it brings warmth and joy to our space. We invite everyone to stop by, enjoy a meal, and support this inspiring cause!”
