In 1969, my single mother and I immigrated to the United States.

She worked a lot of hours, so I quickly learned to cook for the both of us. Years later, my wife Guadalupe and I met and discovered our mutual love of cooking. At family reunions and church events, we received many compliments, and we decided that our version of the American dream was to open a restaurant offering authentic Mexican food. After several years of planning and construction, our dream

became a reality in 2002. All five of our children helped with the opening of Mi Hacienda (“My House”) in Darien, and they all still participate to this day. Now our children are grown, and we are proud that the third generation of our family is becoming involved in Mi Hacienda. The oldest of our 10 grandchildren can be found working alongside us on our busiest days. We hope you enjoy our authentic Mexican food and family hospitality!

Official Announcement

Mi Hacienda remains open to the public.

Although we recently announced the upcoming closure of our restaurant, we would like to inform our valued community that we will continue serving you with the same dedication and commitment that have defined us throughout the years.

We will remain open until February 15, at which time we will conclude our operations. It would be our honor to welcome you during this final week, especially as we celebrate a special occasion such as Valentine’s Day together.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude for your trust, loyalty, and support over these 23 years of service. It has been a true privilege to serve you and to be part of so many meaningful moments in our community.
