Hello!
Some of you may have heard that The Davis Beer Shoppe is closed. It is not. In fact, we’re open right now. Sierra Nevada Draught Pale Ale is just $4 per pint.
Lt. John Evans and Wend Weitzel were flatly wrong in their accounts of our status. Our license was suspended- not revoked- for delinquent paperwork with a different state agency. Officer Evans saying ABC “closed” us is flatly wrong, they told us to stop selling alcohol until the discrepancies had been addressed, which they have.
Wendy wrote an article about the store without having spoken with me to gather the entire story so that she could post an inflammatory headline. Both of these people have defamed our character, slandered us, and in Wendy’s case it could be termed libel. I won’t be pursuing legal action, but I thought you all would like to hear what was really going on.

If you would like to cancel your subscription to Comings & Goings because of reckless journalism, the substack app and website make cancelling accounts clunky for obvious reasons, but if you are so inclined here’s how to do it:
Log into your substack account on a desktop browser> in the lower left corner there is a MORE button>Settings>Subscriptions>Comings & Goings>At the bottom of the page is ACCOUNT ACTIONS>””To cancel your subscription click here”>Cancel.
