We’re super passionate about local seafare, so we’re getting ureasonably excited for our Feast of the Local Fishes event at the Oregon Coast tomorrow with and ! 🦀 Part of the celebration of local seaweed and seafood, our event is sold out, but we encourage you to visit the website and socials to see the very cool line up of events still available this month. From educational seafare forums, to chef collab dinners, to aquaculture tours—there’s something fascinating and delicious for everyone to enjoy! For those looking for a different kind of super bowl party, might we suggest steamy bowls of ramen cooked outside over an open fire? Scroll through and see our tips below on how to throw an epic ramen party in the snow 🍜❄️

-We start by making a burnt onion dashi (char cut side of halved onions in a dry cast iron skillet until deeply blackened and simmer with kombu) that is super flavorful, packed with umami and also vegan
-Prepare a generous array of toppings to suit a variety of tastes, such as ramen eggs, slivered scallion, seared wild mushrooms, marinated tofu, sliced radishes or daikon, charred and fresh greens, braised meats, pickled vegetables and furikake
-Invite guests to create their own perfect bowl with their choice of toppings

A meal enjoyed with friends is always the best kind 🥰

Postcards from Sardinia 🇮🇹 As 2024 winds down, we thought we’d share a bit of a travelogue of sorts from some of the places we explored this year—partly because we want to have a record of it too! Moments like these are worth remembering and travel can be so illuminating and transformative. We hope to do more of it and to expand our international retreat offerings in the years to come!

We were so fortunate to travel to Europe twice this year, both to revisit some of our favorite places and discover some new ones. This was our first time to Sardinia and it really blew us away with its unique history, distinctive culture and fascinating foodways. There were vast and varied landscapes, from lush valleys to steep rocky mountains, sweeping sea vistas and beaches both rustic and downright tropical. Also, flamingos! 🦩 🤯

We feasted on Island specialties like fresh seafood, roast suckling pig, beautiful wines, regional pasta varieties, sheep’s milk cheeses and pane carasau. We did, ate and saw so much, yet we barely scratched the surface of this island’s many splendid riches. One thing is certain—we WILL return soon and we hope you might come along with us on the journey!

If you’ve followed along on our adventures over the years, you’ve seen that we are absolutely smitten with the northern region of Croatia known as Istria, which is truly blessed with both natural beauty and an almost unfair bounty of culinary riches, including splendid wine, olive oil, cheeses, cured meats, sparkling fresh seafood and TRUFFLES.
