Volusia County Beach Safety is expecting large holiday crowds this weekend. Beach goers are encouraged to plan ahead and make safety a priority while enjoying the beach this Independence Day!🛟🌊

Beach Driving Area Tips:
• Set up on the east, or ocean side, 20 feet away from the traffic lane.
• Look left, right, then left again before crossing the traffic lane, and hold your child’s hand.
• Never let the traffic lane separate you from your children.
• Consider setting up in one of the designated non-driving beach areas if you have small children.
• The speed limit is 10 mph.
• Be aware of soft sand conditions.
• Download the Volusia Beaches app for beach conditions, open access points, and staffed lifeguard towers.
• Always swim in front of a staffed lifeguard tower!
