Bistro Five Thirty Seven is a full-service restaurant located within Richland Community College’s Shilling Education Center. It is operated by students in Richland’s Culinary Arts program and acts as a working laboratory that will provide hands-on experience in the day-to-day operations of a restaurant. The menu will change monthly to incorporate different styles of cuisine and cooking techniques. This entrepreneurial experience is the capstone of the culinary program and ensures that graduates have the credentials and skills necessary to be successful in the culinary field.

We will be throwing our 11th Annual Culinary Holiday Party on Thursday, December 17, 2026 at 5:30pm in the Salons here at Richland. We are giving you more than 8 weeks notice to ask for the night off work and secure child care. This is open to all current and past culinary students and any employee in the culinary department. You may bring one guest, but no children, please. Please bring one home cooked dish to share with everyone (please do not bring store bought, we would rather showcase the culinary skills of our students. You do not have to bring a dish to attend, there will be plenty of food to go around. You may also bring a culinary related gift up to $20 for a gift exchange, but you do not have to bring one in order to attend. You just wouldn't participate in the exchange. Today is your last opportunity to grab your fave dishes from our current menu. We will be debuting a new menu starting next Thursday, October 29. This Thursday the bistro will be closed for lunch so students can prep for the fundraiser dinner that night. Next Tuesday the bistro will be closed all day to prep for the new menu.

Regular hours today for lunch 11-1 and dinner 5-8.

Reminder if you are wanting to go on the Italy trip next Summer, then please reach to Chef Tucker ASAP.

The time has come to start finalizing our next culinary trip. We are headed back to Italy! Italy is ALWAYS a favorite of ours and it's time for a new group of travellers to experience what we know and LOVE!

There will be a short, informational meeting on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2026 at 2PM to discuss basic details and gauge interest on who might be attending.

If you cannot make it to the meeting, then please feel free to reach out to Chef Tucker at [email protected] and he will forward the information and/or answer any questions you might have.
