Dear Followers

We've been having some minor delays with most contractors, due to labor shortage or supplies. Last piece of puzzle are our POS system which should be delivered to us on Tues or Weds at which point we can open next day. Please send thank you cards to Riverwoods Village Hall for being so accommodating and receiving us with open arms.

We're feeling a bit of pressure to open financially , but will reach the goal line soon.

We will not disappoint you. Thank you all for your generous donations.

Dear Rhapsody Cafe Followers

Thank you for all your comments and well whishes. The support and kind words are overwhelming. Watching our beautiful restaurant being shredded to pieces is like getting dental work done, without anesthesia !!

I've debated the wisdom of this particular post, but, what do I have to lose? I can't go into the sunset without turning over every rock, exploring each and every option that can help us continue the show.

If our followers are able to raise capital, we could be back in business in no time right here in Deerfield. The ideal amount is substantial, which I'm wiling to disclose only in private message. I am sure that capital can be repaid long term. If I want to pursue a loan with no personal guarantee, Second source funding and its wonderful 48% interest is always available. lol so yeah, where do I sign?

It is a long shot. It is a Hail Mary. But, again, what do I have to lose?
If the only thing I have to worry about is continue running our restaurant, without worrying about a Personal Guarantee on an SBA Loan, I can do that with my eyes closed. Issues plaguing our industry should gradually recede, but you need Capital to withstand it !!

For those of you who have patronized us for many years, you probably remember our experience with Rhapsody Cafe Gurnee in 2010 which concluded with a personal BK in 2015. Once bitten twice shy, my friends.

Saddest thing of all of this: I can't even sit and enjoy Da Bears play without alcohol involved! Either watching Da Bears play or alcohol is not healthy, we can agree on that. lol

Dear Rhapsody Cafe Customers

Mid spring 2021, we found out our location was slated for redevelopment. In July 31, 2021, our lease expired as well. Since that time, it has been a torturous journey dealing with numerous issues, such a pandemic, rising food costs, high labor costs, food scarcity and, well, yes, a new location along with some funding to finance said relocation.

We found many options to stay within a mile or two from current location to which we ended up not taking any one. Because of current economic and labor conditions, along with lingering pandemic effects, the time to say goodbye has arrived. We are officially closed for business.

We would like to thank everyone for their support, specially the following parties :
--> The Charneske Group. Accounting Firm from Bannockburn IL. Joe Charneske and his partners were valuable in our success for almost 17 years, particularly helping us in the middle of the pandemic to secure SBA Loans with their work. Janet, Nick, Kate and al, thank you!

--> The City of Deerfield. No matter how big or small the issue might've been, they were always there to help and support us.

-->CRM Properties. Landlord was always more than just a landlord. They always went beyond their responsibility to help us. They were more like partners than just a landlord. They were gracious throughout our run, particularly during the pandemic when they made sure we thrived.

--> Each and Every Customer that walked into our doors. !
We are going to miss you ! I am going to miss you all.

Although we are walking away empty handed financially, we are walking away with an abundance of priceless memories that we'll cherish for the rest of our lives.

To the very end, I am doing it my way !! We are collateral damage from circumstances beyond our control, but in no way I am bitter for this ending ! Very proud of our accomplishment.

You can still find me at the restaurant for couple weeks before lights go off permanently.
