I had the pleasure of taking the short trip to Comstock and dinning at The J and P Bar and Grill.I recently had the pleasure of stumbling upon a hidden gem in what felt like the middle of nowhere—a small diner that served the most mouthwatering cheeseburger and fried okra. From the moment I took my first bite, I knew I was in for a treat. The cheeseburger was perfectly cooked, with a juicy and flavorful patty that melted in my mouth. The addition of jalapeños gave it a delightful kick, adding just the right amount of heat to elevate the overall taste. The fried okra, served as a side, was crispy and golden, complementing the burger perfectly. It was evident that the ingredients were fresh and of high quality, and the flavors came together harmoniously to create a truly satisfying meal.

To start off my dining experience, I ordered the fried jalapeños appetizer, and boy, was it a fantastic choice. The jalapeños were sliced and battered, then deep-fried to crispy perfection. Each bite offered a delightful crunch followed by a burst of flavor. The heat from the jalapeños was well-balanced, allowing the natural spiciness to shine through without overwhelming the palate. It was a wonderful way to awaken my taste buds and set the stage for the delicious cheeseburger that awaited me. This J and P exceeded my expectations, serving up a cheeseburger and fried jalapeños appetizer that are worth going off the beaten path for. I will see you again soon.

Hello Del Rio Foodies,

I asked where to go next and what you all wanted was Teriyaki Maddness. So I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken with fried rice, vegetables and an order of potstickers. Went with the classic and most popular. So let me get right to it, I was kinda disappointed and not really impressed, so 3 of 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ but there is a bright side because Teriyaki Maddness still has high potential. The Teriyaki Chicken was tender but way over chard it needed to be pulled off sooner. I was also disappointed with my potstickers as they were soggy and room temperature, flavor was there it just wasn't cooked and served properly. The Teriyaki sauce had a nice flavor, and was one of my favorite parts of my meal. The dipping sauce that came with the potstickers was the other favorite part my meal. The service at the restaurant was good, and the atmosphere was pleasant. The restaurant seating and size of dinning room felt very small and awkward at times. I will note that the staff were friendly and attentive. I can see potential here but this time it was a bust for my 1st visit. I will definitely be back and give it another try. It is important to support local businesses.

Walo’s I had the pleasure of trying some Tapitos and I must say, they were absolutely delicious! The Tapitos were fresh, crispy, and bursting with flavor. The thin cabbage on top added the perfect crunch and freshness to the dish.

The outside was perfectly crispy, while the inside was tender and juicy. The flavors were well-balanced, with just the right amount of spice and seasoning to make each bite a delight for the taste buds.

The thin cabbage on top was the perfect accompaniment to the Tapitos. It added a nice crunch and freshness to the dish, while also providing a bit of contrast to the warm and savory flavors of the Tapitos themselves.

Overall, I would highly recommend the Tapitos to anyone who loves delicious, flavorful food. Whether you're a fan of Mexican cuisine or just looking for a tasty snack, these Tapitos are sure to impress! I will give the Walo’s Natural Tapitos a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ of 5 stars. They have set the bar pretty high.

Time for another review:

When I was younger, going out to eat was a privilege, and it was always exciting. One of my favorite memories when eating out was going to "The Sho-gun" a Japanese Steak House where I knew I would be catching a shrimp in my mouth and hopefully seeing a big fire ball on the stove top. While eating D&A Hibachi Express LLC I was brought back to that feeling. I enjoyed the D&A Hibachi Supreme Dish. It brought back great memories of eating at the Japanese Steak House. The food was fresh, hot and tasted like I hoped it would. The rice had great flavor, although I like my rice cooked for just a little bit longer. My shrimp and chicken were perfectly season, and they went great with the yum yum sauce. The steak was tender but definitely needed more seasoning, but the teriyaki sauce did compliment the steak very well. All I was missing was maybe the "house dressing salad,(traditional Japanese house dressing on lettue)," a flying shrimp, and an onion volcano. I give it a 4.5 out of 5 ⭐️

When it comes to street tacos there are many "favorites". There is no way I would be able to say, where my favorite is but Alonso's Tacos would be on my mind. If you are eating Alonsos tacos at 4 in the afternoon at a local event or at 1am in the morning after maybe one to many drinks, they always hit the spot. I like to "load" mine up. I throw cilantro, onion and a squeeze of lime all over and then slather them with both salsas (green/orange) on my pastor tacos. The meat quality isn't the best but the flavors make up for it once it hits your mouth. No matter what you get it is ways fresh tasting, just the right amount of heat and maybe one taco not enough. Not to mention the service you get from Alonso him self. There is no other food truck or maybe even restaurant that provides as good as service as Alonso does.
I give them a 4 ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5.

Mr. Gatti's Pizza ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 out of 5. Let's start with the salad bar. I am a sucker for a good salad. But one of the most important parts of a salad is the ingredients and Mr. Gattis your salad bar is fresh and clean. Employees constantly wiping down and replacing ingredients that were running low. The pasta bar was was sub par this visit. The noodles were a bit mushy and were sitting in to much noodle water as well as the mac and cheese it was a bit watery. The cheese sticks and the pizza pockets were out for majority of my visit. Also was disappointed in the soup selection. The pizza on the other hand was on point tonight and the cook was pumping them out and keeping it full with several options for the majority of my visit. Even did a special order pizza and it came out fast, fresh and hot. One down fall was the desert selection. I waited for quite some time for them to put something out besides the dried up chocolate pizza, once the cinnamon sticks did come out they were deliciously sweet and hot. The cleanliness of the restaurant was alot cleaner than normal and the bussers were hard at work. Although the bathrooms could have used some more attention I did fill that the restaurant as a whole smelt, felt and looked cleaner. I will 100% be back for another visit to Mr. GATTIS!
