When you drive through the small town of Denmark, WI (the only town in the state that’s a Vikings fan on Friday nights and a Packers fan by Sunday), your nose might lead you just past the local ball diamond to a place locals simply call “the Tavern.” That’s Suster’s Arcade, a family-owned staple known for its legendary broasted chicken. On weekends, guests come from all over to enjoy their famous family-style meals—fish and chicken on Fridays, chicken and ribs on Saturdays, and classic chicken dinners on Sundays. If you’re not from northern Wisconsin, “family style” might need explaining—but up there, it means something close to grandma’s Thanksgiving table, complete with homemade sauerkraut, dressing, gravy, coleslaw, and potato salad. And of course, many start it all off with a classic Wisconsin old fashioned.

Serving the community since 1909, Suster’s is now proudly run by its fifth generation, continuing traditions that have kept people coming back for decades while thoughtfully evolving with the times.
