Janchi-guksu is traditionally served at Korean weddings, but it also makes a quick, flavorful noodle dish you can build at home 🍜

Swirl the noodles into the bowl, layer the egg whites, egg yolk, zucchini, and carrots, pour in the broth, then finish it with dry seaweed and sauce.

The last little detail: grind the sesame seeds between your hands before you sprinkle them on top. Then it is time to eat.

Which topping are you adding first?

10/27/2026

Makguksu broth, made from scratch.

Anchovies, dried seaweed, radish, and onions all simmer together for about 30 minutes to build that deep, simple flavor.

Traditionally served as wedding food in Korea, this one can be enjoyed hot or cold.

So which are you choosing: hot or cold? 👀

Little kitchen tip that makes a big difference. 🥕

Zucchini and carrots are great on top of noodles, but cook them separately. The carrots can bleed their color into the zucchini and dull the whole plate.

Separate pans, cleaner colors, better presentation.

Be honest: have you been tossing them all in together?

10/16/2026

It’s all in the details. 🍳

For the egg garnish, we cook the whites and yolks separately, slice them thin, then layer them over the noodles for that clean yellow-and-white contrast.

Could you just scramble the eggs? Sure. But the presentation wouldn’t hit the same.

Small step, big difference.

What’s your go-to noodle topping?

10/13/2026

Makguksu means flavor noodles, and the sauce is where all that flavor comes from.

Green onions, jalapenos, soy sauce, sugar, Korean red peppers, and red paste sauce. Mix it up and that's it. Want it spicier? Add more jalapenos, more Korean red peppers, a little cayenne. The flavors are all going to be there either way.

And it isn't just for noodles. Put it over rice and mix it in, use it for bibim sauce, use it anywhere you like. It's one of those ketchup sauces you keep reaching for 🌶️

What would you put this on first?

From setup to final shot 🔥

A few angles, one hot stone bowl, and the steam does the rest.

Behind every food shot you see from us is a table, a camera, and a dish that came out too good to wait on. Which shot would make you order it?

Noodle day 🍜

We’re going with thick, chewy wheat noodles, and apparently the secret is adding cold water three times while they cook to make them even chewier.

Does it make sense to me? Not really. 😅

But if Mom says that’s how you do it, you don’t argue. You just stay in your lane and keep cooking.

What’s one kitchen rule your mom taught you that you still follow?

POV: the social media guy is out of town, so we're doing this the hard way 📱

Rate the camera work in the comments.

Bibim dangmyeon 🍜

Sweet potato glass noodles topped bibimbap-style with fish cakes, yellow radish, egg whites, carrots, spinach, and egg yolk.

The best part? There’s no strict rule. Add what you like, mix it all together, and make it your own.

Which topping are you reaching for first?

Poor thing was abandoned out there, just sitting in a planter with nobody to love it. Somebody had to step in 🙏

Good news: it found a home. Come to Dae Gee Korean BBQ and let's pig out together.
