POPULAR DEMAND is now available on draught and in cans!

What is it?!

POPULAR DEMAND is our take on a pilsner (the 🇩🇪 kind). We use a single heirloom German malt for a pale color and a light body, and we use both traditional Hallertau Mittlefrüh hops, as well as a little kiss of Nelson Sauvin (as always, from our dear friends ). It took its time fermenting for just shy of 3 weeks at a cold temperature, after which we lagered it for a further 6 weeks, with some krausening at the end for a nice, natural carbonation.
It's crisp and clean, smooth and civil, with an assertive-but-not-aggressive bitterness like a pilsner should have, and a faint, delicate whisper of Sauvignon Blanc floating about. It's very good at convincing you to have more of it. 4,9% abv. We made a lot. So.... You know... Go ahead... Make my day.

We are happy and excited to once again invite our friend, Chef Farah Jane , for a paired dinner celebrating the cuisine of her home country- Haiti! The dinner will comprise of 4 courses- each
showcasing different ingredients and preparations of Haitian food. The courses will be paired with a 10 oz pour of beer, a special cocktail made exclusively for this dinner, and a coffee with dessert to keep it classy!
Tickets will be required for attendance and are available at $75 a seat. This includes
four (4) courses, one (1) 10 oz pour of beer (or NA option), one (1) pour of the cocktail (or mocktail) special, one (1) espresso beverage (think espresso, macchiato, cappuccino, latte… decaf is also available!), and gratuity. The full brewery menu will also be available a la carte.

SPOTLIGHT: WEE-WAKA

We first connected with our now good friends in 2021. I (Tamir) was on a Zoom call where I met Brent , a hop grower down under in Motueka, NZ. Through Brent and the rest of the NZ Hops gang, we got access to some cool experimental hops, giving us a little glimpse into the future. You may remember the original STRAIGHT FROM THE LAB releases: NZH-104, NZH-105, NZH-102 (now Superdelic), and even HORT-4337- better known as Nectaron.

A few years ago, NZ hops started their Bract Brewing program, in which they provide promising experimental varieties to participating breweries for feedback and review. It takes many years to breed and stabilize a new hop variety, and this program helps the growers and breeders decide if the experimental varieties are worth the effort. In 2023 we got to work with 2 exciting new varieties, NZH-106, and NZH-109. We fell in love with both. Let’s talk about the one used in this beer: NZH-106.

It’s no secret I love Riwaka hops. The musty white grape-passionfruit-grapefruit- sour diesel cannabis flavor combination it provides stands almost entirely alone in the hop world. Problem is, Riwaka- as a plant- hates everything. She doesn’t want to grow. She doesn’t want to yield cones. If she’s not grown in absolutely perfect conditions, she really doesn’t want to do the thing. So How do you still get that incredible flavor, but in a better plant? Enter NZH-106. A daughter of Riwaka, NZH-106 captures a lot of her mother’s positive aroma and flavor traits while being much friendlier to growers.

For WEE-WAKA, we exclusively use NZH-106. It’s absolutely got that familiar flavor profile from Mom- think diesely white grape and passionfruit- while showing off a ripe orange character and another wave of tropical island fruit. All in a soft, cloud-like fluffy beer that rings in at 4,9% abv. Just like Riwaka, NZH-106 is delicate enough to be able to really show off in a little beer, and that’s music to our taste buds!

NZH-106 is incredibly rare, and this is likely one of the few times it will be available all on its own for the foreseeable future. So come down to Bakertown and have a taste of tomorrow!

HAPPY WEEKEND! SPRING/SUMMER IS BACK!

Some freshy highlights for ye, Denveronians:

- EAU DE COLOGNE is a Kölsch style ale brewed with heirloom German malts, Hallertau Mittlefrüh & Motueka hops. Naturally carbonated over a few weeks of cold conditioning. Bright and light with a crisp bitterness that makes it really easy to have 12 of em! Draught and cans.

- WEE-WAKA is a beautiful little unfiltered hoppy beer featuring an experimental variety from New Zealand designated as NZH-106. She's a daughter of our beloved Riwaka, and certainly expresses a lot of her heritage's traits in this beer: white grape, ripe grapfruit, a whisper of passionfruit, all playing along a steady ripe orange and delicate grassiness. Lots of flavor for a beer that's only 4,9% abv! Makes it really easy to have 12 of em! Draught and cans.
