Ok, so now that the news ๐๏ธ is outโฆletโs talk.
We know places like Clam Haven arenโt just businessesโฆtheyโre part of the community.
30+ years of memories, traditions, and familiar faces. That doesnโt just get replaced. Itโs about keeping Derrys food scene alive, strong, and growing.
Same community. More options. Still local. โค๏ธ
Come support, try something new, and keep showing up for the small businesses that show up for you.
a new era begins now.
although I already announced it with Carol on Beyond the Plate podcast, I think I just needed a minute to say it in my own way, because for some reason for it as many of you that listen to her and tolerated listening to me speak, it just still didnโt feel real.
I grew up in derry.
I call her my hometown.
I earned my first dollar in derry.
I drove my 1st mile in derry.
I got my first kiss in derry.
I went through my first break up in derry.
I made some of my best friends in derry.
and through it all, I currently live here in derry.
when I was supposed to approached about working out of clam haven, it was out of necessity. It was to keep my team paid, it was to give this business of fighting chance through the winter; and instead, the droves of support that all showed me ended up, turning it into a career opportunity that I wouldโve never thought in 1 million years I would have.
I am handed the keys to end an era, but with a promise to usher in a new that respects what this particular piece of land has meant to so many.
it was never the name โclam havenโ - it was the feeling that you got that you had a place during the summer to go to, one that you and your friends could find a bench, grab some good eats, grab some ice cream and just enjoy what summer really was in new england. it was a place people knew you, but also a place you could just get away to - and a place, of course, that always had an opinion of it.
but what is it now?
the sign still says clam havenโฆ
but inside? itโs the new home of deadproof pizza co.
