Thanks to everyone who joined us for the first day of our first-ever Maifest at Des Moines Biergarten. Great music, lots of bier and some very competitive stein holding.

And we’re back at it Sunday with more bands, more bier, more stein holding and more fun.

Sunday schedule:
🍺 12pm – New Jolly Germans Band
🍺 1pm – Bingo by The Dealt Hand
🍺 2pm – Stein Holding Contest
🍺 2:30pm – Malek's Fishermen Band
🍺 4pm – Stein Holding Contest

We just had our first Maipole Dance at our first ever Maifest thanks to the Amana Maipole Dancers!

Don't worry if you missed it, they will be performing again at 3 pm and 5 pm today!

There will be no performances on Sunday so don't miss it!

We’re open and ready for a fun day of Maifest activities here at the Biergarten.

Today's schedule will be:
11:30 am - 8:00 pm - Face Painting and Balloon Artist
12:00 pm - Live Music by Betrucken Messing
1:30 pm - Amana Maipole Dancers Performance
2:00 pm - Live Music by Schnitzel Brothers Bier Band
3:00 pm - Second Amana Maipole Dancers Performance
4:00 pm - Stein Holding Contests
5:00 pm - FINAL Amana Maipole Dancers Performance (there are none on Sunday so don’t miss it!)
5:30 pm - Live Music by Polka Police
7:00 pm - Stein Holding Contests

We’ve got quite the emcee lineup for Maifest at Des Moines Biergarten.

WHO-TV anchor Justin Surrency will be on the mic helping run the show on Saturday.

On Sunday, our own State Representative Austin Baeth. Doctor, Politician, occasional TikTok influencer… and now, emcee.

They’ll be leading the sack races, stein holding, and general chaos throughout the day.

Come see how it goes.
