In response to the nationwide strike and blackout happening Friday, January 30th.

We are a small business in our first 6 months, and any day closed would impact us greatly. We are choosing to stay open, but believe everyone has the right to feel safe and represented.

Tomorrow we will be giving a free drip coffee or tea to those headed to a protest.

Our cafe was created as a third space for everyone in the community to be comfortable and welcome. We are lucky to be a part of this community that holds our same values.

This year has been truly amazing for us and our Second Love Coffee Roaster company. We started the year with pop-ups and website sales and ended the year with our own cafe space.

We could not have gotten here without our friends, family, community, and our Des Moines Theater partners. Thank you everyone who came to our farmers market booth, pop-ups, website and café. Every day we're reminded why we chose this community and so stoked you all choose us.

2026 is going to be an amazing year and we're so excited to continue to grow with you around us.

We wanted to let you know that starting this week, there will be a small $0.50 price increase on most drinks. Our signature beverage and drip coffee will remain the same price.

This change will help us keep up with rising coffee costs and bring a new team member on board to continue providing you with great service.

We don’t take raising pricing lightly and will try to do it as little as possible. Moreover, we work to always be as transparent as possible with our pricing and tell you where the revenue is going.
