Hi there, Peg here with a few things to discuss:
First, we’ll be closed this evening (so no Thursday this week) but we’ll definitely be open this Friday and Saturday with some favorite specials like Creole Meatloaf, Chicken Florentine, Italian Sausage Riggies, and Five Onion Soup! Every one of our extremely small crew had urgent or super fun things to attend to today, and even my ancillary crew made up of my best friends were all unavailable, and so as much as I’d like to think that I can do it all, I absolutely can’t do it all. A terrible time would be had by everyone if I had to cook the orders and run the counter and answer the phones all by myself. Ick. Closing for a day seems the wisest option.
Second, you might notice the Coldwell Banker sign in front of Dish as you drive down Mack Avenue. While my landlady has listed the building for sale intermittently over the last few years, she’s really ready sell it now and she’s decided to be a bit more proactive about it. If you’re interested, give her a call. Someone should buy this building and be my landlady/lord for a short while, it’s a really great space!
Third, does this mean Dish the business is also for sale? It might. It’s not officially for sale, but it’s not not for sale. My lease will end on April 30th of 2028, and Dish will be 30 years old in February of that year, I’m driven to see this through as far as I can. Personally, I’m working hard on consciously uncoupling from the restaurant where I’ve spent half of my life, and from this wonderful space that’s so inextricably connected to my husband. I’m getting used to the idea that it will all be over, but I’m also not averse to the idea of someone else taking over. In other words, I plan on staying for the next year and a half, but I’d entertain reasonable offers. If interested, enquire within.
