Important Reminder!!!!!

Advance voting for the Georgia Primary and Nonpartisan Election Runoff begins June 8 and runs through June 12.

Voters will decide several key races, including U.S. Senate and Governor. Locations are open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Note: Saturday voting is not available for this runoff.

Polling locations:
• Douglas County Courthouse
• Deer Lick Park
• Dog River Library
• Lithia Springs Senior Center

Voters must use the same party ballot cast in May. Nonpartisan voters may choose either party. Visit douglascountyga.gov for wait times.

The Douglas County School System is providing free breakfast and lunch to all children ages 18 and under this summer through its special nutrition program.

Meal service began on June 2 and runs through June 17 at multiple campus locations, operating Monday through Thursday. Extended service will continue at Douglas County High School and Lithia Springs High School through July 11.

Note that all sites will be closed on Fridays, as well as June 19 and the week of June 30.

The Douglasville Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating a local juvenile reported as a runaway. Authorities are asking residents to remain vigilant and report any sightings or information regarding the youth's whereabouts to the Douglasville Police Department.

The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced a full weekend closure for a major stretch of I-285 that will likely impact Douglas County commuters starting Friday.

All lanes of I-285 northbound and southbound will be closed between MLK Jr. Drive (Exit 9) and Cascade Road (Exit 7) from 7 p.m. Friday, June 5, until 5 a.m. Monday, June 8. Officials warn of significant delays on I-20 and SR 166.

According to WSTB - TV - Douglas County teen Patience Price, was killed early Saturday morning after a crash on Chapel Hill Road near Rosemont Drive.
