Sixteen years ago today, I was unexpectedly struck by cardiac arrest. By some miracle, my heart was shocked back into action, and I was given a second chance at life. 🎉
I nearly missed out on so many precious moments, like celebrating a wedding with friends and family. I am truly fortunate to be here today.
Why did I almost lose my life? Because I didn't know that the standard American diet—packed with meat, dairy, and oils—contributes to heart disease and countless other health problems. I also didn't know that switching to a low-fat, whole food plant-based diet could reverse heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and many other conditions.
But now I know, and I’ve shared this life-changing info with many of you. ❤️
However, knowing what’s healthy and actually following through can be hard, especially with all the temptations around us. So, on my 'rebirthday,' I’d love if you could skip just one of those temptations today. 🍪➡️🍓 Or even better, take a moment to replace one unhealthy habit with a healthier choice—like swapping cookies for fruit or cooking without oil. 🌱 Can you do that for me today?
Heart disease and other killers can sneak up on us without warning. I urge you to make these small changes now, before it’s too late.
