1. A common question we get is “What was this building before it was Sir Ben’s?” Short answer: an Original Pure Oil Station, as old as 1937.
2. Artistic rendering of early Sir Ben’s. The patio was added to Sir Ben’s after the construction of the I-35 highway tunnels in the 1980’s.
3. This picture was taken in 1937 when this building was a gas station.
4. We estimate that this picture was taken in the late 1970’s when this building became Sir Benedict’s Tavern on the Lake (opened in 1978).
