UPDATE on The Rusty Skillet

Hi, it’s us again 🙂

First, we want to post a better menu that we have created. This will be our menu once we get things straightened out and/or get rolling on the road!

Second, it has been brought to our attention that several of our supporters have contacted planning & zoning voicing their complaints about us not being able to serve on our property which is most appreciated. We were asked as to why they were blamed when they had specifically told us that our permit was only to store the trailer and our goods, not serve on our property. Just to clarify and so that none of our supporters think we have told them an untruth in any way, this is true but then we were also told that Botetourt County did not have any ordinance on record in their books regarding food trucks/trailers, therefore, we could serve from our property since we had ample space and good visibility pulling into and out of the driveway. We are not here to point fingers or blame anyone for what is currently going on, but, we truly felt like we had a good thing going and we were so excited about our new adventure. We just wanted to put the honest truth out so that no one thought we had such a great first opening weekend and then we just gave up 🤪

Lastly, all of you are AMAZING and again, we can’t thank you enough for the love and support you all have shown us. So many have reached out with great ideas or offering their lots and we have so much to think about and piece together and we’re secretly hoping things get turned around and we can serve on our property again but only time will tell!

Hey y’all! We hope all is well on this beautiful Monday (a little dreary for us). We have a little bit of sad news. To say we’re super disappointed would be an understatement. After obtaining all of the proper permits, etc., and being told that we could set up and serve on our property, unfortunately, Botetourt County Planning & Zoning received a call this morning with a complaint about us being open on our property and said this was a courtesy call telling us we could not operate on our property. If we serve from here again, we will be fined. Obviously those are not the calls we want. We want calls going out of how amazing it is to have the food trailer available and providing to the community. Therefore, we will not be able to open this week and will need to come up with another plan of where we will be able to set up and serve. This past weekend was incredible and we are so thankful for all of those who came out to see us, supported us, gave us positive feedback, and left us the most amazing reviews. We are so bummed but it is just another hurtle we are willing to jump through. We feel like others voices matter if anyone wants to give us a boost on some help with a positive phone call telling us we can get back up and running on the property we’ve worked so hard on to make it an enjoyable setting for everyone 🤪

Hey ya’ll! I know it’s been a long time coming but The Rusty Skillet is up and running! We’ve taken it out to a couple of events and today we’re having a soft opening at 11am at 11337 Narrow Passage Rd Eagle Rock, VA.

PLEASE do us a favor and like/share our new page that’s tagged above to stay on top of when we’ll be serving out of the food trailer and where you can find us 🫶🏼 we appreciate everyone being so patient!

The laundromat in Eagle Rock is now open. We were able to open earlier than the 9th of June as planned. “Get to washin” 😆
