At One North Kitchen & Bar, the safety and comfort of our guests will always come first.
Recently, some valid concerns were raised regarding our flatware polishing process and the granules used within our polishing equipment. Based on information initially provided by the manufacturer, we understood the material to be a barley-based product. After further discussions and requesting additional documentation, the manufacturer has clarified that the granules are actually made from organic corn cob.
We appreciate those who brought their concerns forward and gave us the opportunity to seek additional answers. While the product is not barley-based as originally believed, we understand that guests with allergies and sensitivities place a high level of trust in us, and we take that responsibility seriously.
For guests who would feel more comfortable using an alternative, environmentally sustainable disposable flatware remains available upon request.
In the interest of transparency, we have attached the manufacturer’s Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for anyone who would like to review the product information directly.
Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to clarify this information. We remain committed to listening, learning, and doing everything we can to provide a safe and welcoming dining experience for every guest.
