To our customers who have become family and friends since we first started jimmys ice cream in 1995 , we have a beautiful announcement to make . The second side to a story .
Two years ago we leased our store on crystal street to the current tenant, who under terms of the lease operated under our name “Jimmys Ice Cream”. This was a second lease renewal for an additional 2 years . As a condition of the lease we required that the store be maintained in a clean condition as our reputation was impacted by the condition of the store. This was an on-going problem with our tenant, which was not properly addressed during the term of the lease. When the tenant failed to renew the lease in accordance with its terms, we chose to end the lease upon its expiration of October 31, 2025 and return require a return of our name all in accordance with the terms of the lease. As an accommodation to the tenant we agreed to extend the lease for 2 months to allow the tenant time requested for an orderly exit.
The condition of the store is not to our standards and we will remedy the condition. The prior employees will be considered for employment when we open under our new management.
Over the past 30 years, the name “Jimmys Ice Cream”, which my father started in 1995, has earned good will and a good reputation through hard work and attention to our customers. Today we now own and operate Gables Ice Cream in Tannersville , Lewis Ice cream in Marshall’s Creek , Jane’s Ice Cream in Snydersville , and Hilltop Ice Cream in Brodheadsville and Jimmys ice cream of Blakeslee . Jimmy’s Ice Cream on Crystal Street will mirror the good service and conditions of our other locations. We have our customers to thank for our success.
Starting Jan 1 2026 , we will work hard to repaint clean and install all new equipment and reopen our Crystal street location to the standards our customers have come to expect. Our opening celebrations will offer free merchandise , gift cards and a fresh clean store !! We vow to you our valued customers , friends and family to keep and maintain a clean , friendly family atmosphere . Hope to see all of you soon.
