Thinking of our dear departed friend Dave on this first snow day of the season. Dave was one of the kindest, most thoughtful and creative minds I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. He always made me feel like he was the president of my personal fan club. I think he made a lot of people feel that way.

RIP to an absolute legend. It’s probably been thirty years since my first bites at the Big Mamou. The food and vibe Chef Wayne Ho**er and his team created in that little space still to this day inspires and informs my approach to cooking and operating a neighborhood restaurant.
