Butter Pecan Praline Poke Cake 🍰🥜
Ingredients:
For the Cake:
1 box (15 oz) butter pecan cake mix
1 can (16 oz) coconut pecan frosting
4 large eggs
3/4 cup vegetable oil or canola oil
1 cup milk
1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
For the Praline Sauce:
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish thoroughly to prevent sticking.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the butter pecan cake mix, coconut pecan frosting, eggs, oil, and milk. Use an electric mixer to blend the mixture until it is smooth and well combined.
Gently fold in the chopped pecans until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
Pour the batter into the greased baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
Remove the cake from the oven and, while it is still warm, use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the cake. Set aside.
To make the praline sauce, melt the unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the sweetened condensed milk and bring the mixture to a simmer.
Once the mixture is simmering, fold in the chopped pecans.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and immediately pour the praline sauce evenly over the cake, making sure it seeps into the holes and covers the entire surface.
Allow the cake to cool to room temperature before serving.
