Bra… when you see a shop that has da word “Pidgin” in it… as in Pidgin English from Hawaii… you gotta go checkumout right? With a prompt from our bruddahz at Seattle Refined I went to try da Fried Chicken Sammy with their house-made Chili Crisp and a side salad. Yeah I got da salad AND IT WAS GREAT so don’t sleep on that. Bra da place slams so now it’s your turn to go checkumout! Plus they are a Co-Op so go support! Live Aloha!

I’m bummed that this is the last weekend of the Edmonds Farmers Market as Vespucci Pizza has been my breakfast every Saturday morning. So we made a trade today so we could enjoy each other’s food! I gotta say, these guys were meant to make pies… SO GOOD! Go follow them and see where they’ll be next - or better yet - hire them to cater your next event! WE ARE CLOSED TODAY…Unfortunately our neighbors at Gyro Maker had a fire this morning and our building needs to be closed until we’re able to have the water turned back on. Please have good thoughts for them as it looks to be pretty devastating for their shop. Much Aloha to all of our other neighbors who sustained water and smoke damage like Salon Savy, the UPS Store and Subway. When we are ready to open, please come and support these businesses! It never ceases to amaze me that our little poke shop gets any recognition at all. If you don't know our story, I was laid off from a corporate job about 10 years ago. While unemployed, one of the things I wanted to drown my sorrows in was some good poke for this born and raised local Hawaii Bruddah. I went everywhere in and around the city and couldn't find any true Hawaiian Style poke so I hit up my very old friend Deming and pitched him this crazy idea of opening a shop and he was the instigator of this journey we've been on. I owe it to him because he convinced me to do it - so thank you so much Deming and Michelle Maclise for changing my life! To be on this list of great Seattle restaurants is so humbling and you cannot believe how grateful I feel. Mahalo Eater Seattle and Live Aloha!!
